Jannik Sinner continued his good form as he clinched the Rotterdam Open on Sunday. The Italian defeated Australia’s Alex de Minaur in straight sets by 7-5, 6-4. The Australian Open champion dropped only one set throughout the tournament and was proud of the level with which he played throughout the week.

With this win, Sinner improved his Lexus ATP Head-to-Head record against Alex de Minaur by 7-0. Furthermore, Sinner also broke into the top three of the ATP rankings for the first time in his career after winning back-to-back titles.

“My team, we did a really good job a few weeks ago and now we made a very good job here,” Sinner said. “I am really proud with the level that I played throughout this whole week. We have been in tough situations but we handled it the right way. We will always try to improve, it is the most important.”

Sinner smashed 23 winners and recovered from squandering a break advantage in both sets against the Australian.

The youngster defeated players like Botic van de Zandschulp, Gael Monfils, Milos Raonic (walkover), and Tallon Griekspoor to make it to the summit clash.

On the other hand, former US Open champion Andy Roddick showered praise on Jannik Sinner for his potent game.

“Look what he’s forcing people to do to win a point,” Andy Roddick said on Instagram.

“That registers mentally even if you’re on the good side of a given point. Weirdly even more impressed by Sinner after watching this,” he added.

Earlier in the season, Sinner defeated Daniil Medvedev in the Australian Open final despite losing the first two sets. Sinner will look to continue his good form in the upcoming tournaments.
